Integrated Holistic Health Coaching Certificate through YogaX at Stanford Psychiatry
YogaX’s Integrated Holistic Health Coaching Certificate is a pioneering program at the intersection of Lifestyle Medicine and Yoga Psychology. Designed for healthcare professionals, community health providers, and yoga teachers, this program blends the timeless wisdom of yoga with evidence-based coaching competencies to cultivate whole-person wellbeing.
Rooted in the five core content areas, this certificate offers comprehensive training in:
Coaching Presence & Relationships — Learn how to show up with authenticity, mindfulness, and deep listening to foster client trust and transformation.
Theories & Models of Behavior Change — Apply frameworks like the Transtheoretical Model, Motivational Interviewing 4.0, and Self-Determination Theory to support sustainable change.
Skills, Tools & Strategies — Develop core coaching competencies such as active listening, powerful questioning, goal setting, and strengths-based facilitation.
Ethics & Professional Practice — Engage in trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice while staying within scope and honoring professional boundaries.
Health & Wellness Knowledge — Understand the foundations of sleep, nutrition, movement, stress resilience, and the social and structural determinants of health.
Participants will be guided in completing the 50 required coaching sessions, receive mentorship, and gain practical tools to track and reflect on their growth as coaches.
Graduates will be uniquely positioned to amplify their impact in clinical and community settings—bringing together the embodied wisdom of yoga and the science of behavior change to empower clients in transforming their health and their lives.
Certificate Requirements:
To earn the YogaX’s Integrated Holistic Health Coaching Certificate, participants must:
Complete all three training modules (90 hours total):
Module 1: Introduction to Lifestyle Medicine
Module 2: Cultivating Empowerment Through Coaching
Module 3: Practical Skills Application and Supervised Coaching
Submit all required coursework, including:
Assigned readings
In-class exercises
Reflective journals that capture learning insights, personal growth, and integration of content
Participate in supervised practice coaching sessions as part of the practicum and receive structured faculty feedback
Pass a final Practical Skills Assessment (PSA) demonstrating:
Coaching presence and rapport
Application of relevant theories and behavior change models
Use of core coaching skills and tools
Integration of yoga philosophy and lifestyle medicine into client-centered coaching sessions
Total Tuition Cost $2030
$2,000 for the program.

Stanford employees can use their STAP funds to help with tuition but our YTT does not qualify for tuition reimbursement programs because it is a certificate program not a degree program. YogaX training program-based prepaid enrollment.
