YogaX 300-Hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training: Advanced Applications of Yoga in Healthcare and Allied Healthcare Settings


The Yoga Alliance-registered 300-hour Yoga Teacher Certification Training (YTT300) is meticulously designed to align with and surpass the standards set by Yoga Alliance for a comprehensive 300-hour yoga teacher training. Adhering to the criteria set by Yoga Alliance, the curriculum is a thoughtful integration of wisdom and expertise spanning across five crucial areas of study. These areas are tailored to equip practitioners for offering yoga services within healthcare settings:

  1. Yoga foundations (yoga humanities), with attention to yoga philosophy, history, and psychology; yoga and the mind; and yoga frameworks for health and disease 

  2. Biomedical and psychological foundations (anatomy and physiology), with attention to anatomy and physiology, application of movement science, psychology and mental health, and body-mind-heart-community integration

  3. Yoga therapy tools and therapeutic skills (yoga techniques), with attention to yoga-derived therapeutic intervention strategies or tools, principles of therapeutic relationship-building, and principles and skills related to psychoeducation and coaching that transmits essential values and skills

  4. Professional practice essentials, with attention to ethics, values clarification, legal matters, and intersections relevant professional ethics code from the extant healthcare profession; cross-discipline collaborations and communication, risk management skills, and yoga therapy ambassadorship; ongoing personal practice, continuous mentorship, lifelong learning, and consultation and supervision as needed 

  5. Practicum experience, with attention to demonstrated assessment skills, conceptualization skills, treatment planning skills, and mentored lead teaching of yoga therapeutics 

This comprehensive program not only meets but exceeds the benchmarks set by Yoga Alliance, providing a robust foundation for aspiring yoga teachers to confidently and competently serve within healthcare settings.

YogaX RYT 300-Hour Overview

The YogaX RYT300 YTT program is rooted in a comprehensive curriculum that delves deeply into scientific, cultural, and historical aspects. Encompassing traditional and modern yoga philosophy, ancient yoga psychologies, contemporary psychological research, evidence-based practices, neuroscience, and social science, our curriculum is meticulously designed. Led by experienced teachers with extensive teaching experience, they are not only registered with Yoga Alliance but also possess advanced credentials (such as E-RYT500) in teaching yoga. Moreover, they bring a healthcare specialization with advanced degrees to the table. This program has a rolling admissions policy, meaning you can apply anytime throughout the year, providing students with the flexibility to submit applications whenever suits them best.

Certification Requirements:

Students must complete ten 30-hour modules from the list below. Find the syllabi on the modules page.

Participants must complete these core modules:  

  • Yoga for Health and Resilience: An Integrated Holistic Yoga Protocol for Healthcare

  • Integrated Holistic Yoga for Mental Health: Cultivating Emotional Resilience and Fortitude

  • Inner Practices: Moving into Awareness, Insight, and Compassion

  • Integrated Holistic Breathing: Enhancing Healthcare and Self-Care Through Freeing the Breath 

  • Integrated  Holistic Adaptive Yoga: Theory and Practice of Making Yoga Accessible

  • Integrated Holistic Yoga: Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Yoga

  • Integrated Holistic Yoga and Lifestyle Medicine Coaching for Health and Wellbeing

  • Neurophysiological Foundations of Yoga-Based Practices

Participants can choose 2 (or more) of the below selective modules:

  • Ancestral and Collective Trauma: Concepts and Experiential Work

  • Practicum in Healthcare Applications of Yoga Psychology

  • Consultation and Supervision of Yoga Service Providers in Healthcare

  • Advanced Teaching Methods: Tailoring Yoga Instruction for Healthcare

Total Tuition Cost $6,100

Payment plan:

  • Payment can be made in three installments of $2,000, first payment is due upon enrollment; we will determine when payments are due based on your enrollment date.

  • $10 processing fee per module.

  • Stanford employees can use their STAP funds to help with tuition but our YTT does not qualify for the tuition reimbursement program because it is a certificate program not a degree program (More info about STAP funds).

*Graduation from a United States Yoga Alliance Registered 200-hour training is highly suggested to enroll in our 300-hour program. If your 200-hour training was not registered with Yoga Alliance, please submit your training syllabus and/or reach out to us at yogaxteam@stanford.edu to see if your training experience makes you eligible for our program.
